Liam Ryan, MPH, is a PHI/CDC Global Health Security Fellow on the Associate Director for Policy and Communications Policy Team. Liam earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in public health from NYU’s School of Public Health. With internship experiences ranging from small nonprofits to the United Nations Public Health team, he is familiar with both large and small datasets. Additionally, he utilized his Spanish speaking ability to complete a field work internship on location at the National institute of Ophthalmology in Lima, Peru. Following completion of his MPH, Liam worked for the New York State Contact Tracing Initiative, first as a contact tracer and then as a case investigator for COVID-19. As a fellow, Liam hopes to translate his experiences into effective and informed public health policy recommendations.

The PHI/CDC Global Health Fellowship Program is implemented for CDC by the Public Health Institute and its partner Consortium of Universities for Global Health.
