Mallory Michalak, MPH, MSW, MEd, is a PHI/CDC Global Health Program Management Fellow in Lilongwe, Malawi where she works with the Health Services Branch, HIV Team. Mallory has worked in maternal, child, and reproductive health programs and research in Malawi, Papua New Guinea, Uruguay, and the United States. Her research has included analyzing multi-country clinical data on miscarriage management for the Pan American Health Organization and leading a qualitative study on the provision of reproductive healthcare in Malawi. Prior to her work in public health, she was a middle school teacher and served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Mexico. She is fluent in Spanish and holds a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health and a Master of Social Work in Community, Management, and Policy Practice from University of North Carolina, as well as a Master of Education from University of Nevada Las Vegas.

The PHI/CDC Global Health Fellowship Program is implemented for CDC by the Public Health Institute and its partner Consortium of Universities for Global Health.
