Tara Pinto, MPH, is a PHI/CDC Global Health Surveillance Fellow in the Division of Global HIV & TB, at CDC Tanzania. Her fellowship role is to provide broad-based technical support to surveillance projects and routine monitoring of the HIV/TB program. Prior to the fellowship, Tara earned her MPH in Global Health Epidemiology and Disease Control from George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health, where she was involved in several COVID-19 projects including creating a dashboard of global COVID-19 control policies as part of her thesis project. Throughout her career, Tara has worked in many health sectors including clinical trial data management, HIV sequencing, and non-profit planning/social media design. Tara is excited to have this opportunity to share her experiences, strengthen her surveillance and data analysis skills, and learn about the beautiful culture of Tanzania.
