Zuwena Plata, MPH, is a PHI/CDC Global Health Monitoring and Evaluation Fellow for CDC in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Haverford College. While at the University at Buffalo, Zuwena collaborated with colleagues at WaterAid India to produce a literature review on latrine usage and associated measures. Additionally, Zuwena collaborated with faculty in the School of Nursing to conduct a scoping review on respiratory health in South and East Asia. Most recently, Zuwena served as an Associate Clinical Data Manager at Axovant Gene Therapies where she ensured sites’ timely and accurate data collection and entry, led data cleaning efforts, and worked with diverse cross-functional teams to ensure high quality study closeout for multiple phase II and III neurology trials.
